The TIG Welding course teaches students the basic principles involved in the set up and safe operation of the Tungsten Inert Gas process. Class will be lab/lecture style with opportunity to take notes, ask questions and receive hands on operation of the machines. Students will learn how to adjust the machines, strike an arc and join material as well as how to tell the difference between a good weld and a sub standard weld. The students will also learn how to troubleshoot problems associated with the process.

A $10 materials fee covers each student’s metal stock and welding consumables.

Please arrive 10 minutes early to complete any necessary paperwork. Our shop can be a little tricky to find so we suggest giving yourself extra time for traffic and parking.

**Please wear closed-toe shoes. Students should wear long sleeved natural fiber shirts, long pants and long hair must be pulled back.**

**Equipment used in this class could be harmful to and/or affect the operation of pacemakers, implanted medical devices, prosthetics, or other similar devices. A doctor's note is required, before taking this class, for any individual with an implantable medical device.**
