In this 2-session workshop, you’ll configure and build your own skateboard deck! On Day 1, you will
select your shape from a variety of premade templates and molds. We’ll discuss the pros and cons of
different shapes, so no skateboarding experience is necessary! Once you’ve decided on your shape,
you’ll glue and vacuum form 7 maple veneers using the Roarockit method of skateboard fabrication.
The glue will dry overnight, and on Day 2, you’ll trace your template and cut out your shape, drill your
holes, and sand your deck smooth. Instructions for clearcoating, applying art, and assembling the
skateboard will be provided on Day 2, so you can take your time to put on your custom finishing touches
at home. Participants will leave the workshop with their own handmade skateboard deck. (Other
skateboard components like wheels, trucks, etc., are not included in this workshop.)
Note 1: The veneers we use are roughly 9.5” x 34”, so your board will be smaller than that; however, we
can provide larger veneers upon request for an additional fee. Please contact the instructor if
interested, and we’ll get you set up with your dream board.
Note 2: We have a variety of molds to choose from – if you would like to know the options and use a
specific shape, please contact the instructor to reserve a mold. Otherwise, participants will choose
their mold based on the order in which they registered.
Early registrants will have first choice from
molds that have not been reserved on the day of the class.
