Cutting Board Workshop: Face Grain (Part 1) covers the process of building your own face grain cutting board using both domestic and exotic hardwoods like walnut, cherry, maple and purple heart. Our instructor will not only cover general wood shop safety, he'll also outline the process of properly milling wood, how to do a successful glue-up, and finishing techniques. Machines covered in this class include the jointer, table saw, planer and router. During this hands-on, two day class each student will create their very own wood cutting board.

A $45 materials fee covers each student's wood and consumables for their take-home project.

This is a two day course held on September 22nd and 23rd from 3:00PM to 6:00PM.

Suggested Prerequisite: Prior completion of Intro to Wood Shop Power Tools or basic woodworking skills are highly encouraged.
