With summer on its way, come design and shape your own soft surfboard at the DIY Moda Surfboard Workshop at MakerPlace because surfing is fun!

This workshop uses soft PE foam blanks called Moda Core which use snowboard technology to create surfboards that flex for variable rocker. Unlike typical PU or EPS surfboard foam, PE foam is non-messy, easy and forgiving to shape with both manual and power tools. Internally, a composite wood core precisely controls flex movements, just like a snowboard. Variable rocker means soft surfboards that surf as well, and in some ways better(!), than fiberglass boards:

Moda Core results in soft, durable, and fun high-performance surfboards that won't ding, ding you, or ding your wallet.

No need to fiberglass! Post-shaping, your Moda Core will be thermally laminated with deck/rail skins and a bottom slick by Custom X, a leading bodyboard manufacturer in Oceanside.
