Beginning sewing is a lot like advanced duct taping. If you can make it out of tape and paper you have what it takes to make it out of cloth and thread. Make tool bags, tactical clothing, trim for your woodwork, upholster your car, or go traditional and make a quilt.
This course outlines the basics of needle selection, thread types, proper fabric selection, winding a bobbin, and thread tension- all of which are important components that make up a successful project. Lean tricks that will make the machines work every time. This class is divided between lecture and lab- students will have the opportunity to sew a set of sample stitches with each machine to practice what they have learned.
