This class will teach students about the variety of stabilizers and their applications for embroidery.
There are many different stabilizers that can be used for a variety of applications for embroidery. Learn which stabilizer to use for certain fabrics, designs and densities. This class will help to make your embroideries top notch!
**It is recommended that students complete Intro to Embroidery before taking this course** **Closed-toe shoes are a requirement**
In this class you will learn the preparation skills that will save you from hours of trial and error. We will begin by cleaning and oiling the machine; and then move step by step through material selection to quilt loading. At each step you will learn about the most common mistakes and how to avoid them. Upon completion of this class you will understand how to select backing, batting, thread and needles as well as have hands on experience with thread tension and other adjustments specific to our machine.
**This class will certify you to use our long arm quilter.

Learn to simplify pictures into one continuous line. These skills apply to everything from free motion quilting, silhouette screen printing, to making logos and laser cut portraits. This class teaches you how to make a single line look like a dog, tree or person. Begin by tracing and at the end of class be able to draw like Picasso! Learn how to draw with your brain and let your hands catch on later. At the end of the class you will know which lines are needed to make an image and how to find them. You will understand how your body learns and the most efficient ways to teach it.
Now that the hard part is done, let's learn how to quilt! This class is hands on. You will be guided through the quilting processes; securing edges, tensioning fabric, pulling up bobbin thread, locking stitches and tending batting. We will introduce stipple, meandering, pantographs, and teach the final steps of finishing and removing the quilt. With a focus on disaster prevention, you will learn exactly what is needed to quilt without a snag! We will wrap up by discussing all of the things we have learned and how they will affect the finished product. Prerequisites: Long Arm Quilting Skills - Part 1. **Closed-toe shoes are a requirement**
