Grand-Santas, parents, and older siblings will be interested in a quick course to build a personalized convertible step stool/chair for gifting to their little ones. Personalized using one of MakerPlace’s high powered laser engraving tools, a step stool/chair will make a fine addition to a family legacy/tradition. The chair/stool's hinged seat-back flips down vertically to serve as the bottom step in a child-sized step stool. Flip it back up, and it becomes a kid-friendly chair. Perfect for kids' bathrooms, bedrooms and playrooms. Constructed from solid wood, it’s kid-tough and easy to clean and carry.
This course will be led by one of Santa’s best wood working elves and features mostly precut parts (solid wood) but requires some cutting, drilling, sanding, assembly and, optionally, laser engraving of the recipient’s and/or giver’s name followed by danish oil finish. Folded as a step stool, the dimensions are: 13.5"W x 12.5"D x 5.75"H. This course will serve as an introduction to many of the tools in the wood shop and use of the lasers. However, this course does not qualify students for independent use of the lasers.
A $25 material fee covers each students materials for the course.
